I'm an engineer and tinkerer. One of my first programming gigs was writing Fortran code to confirm the answers in a state math competition. I got into farm-based coding recently when a friend's automated chicken coop door needed repair. The original chicken door program was based on open source code shared by Arduino users. Automated programs have great potential to enhance flock and herd management on farms and ranches. This blog will serve the farming and coding communities by sharing insights, experiences, and ideas for the future.
